Right to Life of Central Kentucky supports and urges aggressive medical research to save lives of our fellow Americans.  We support most kinds of stem cell research, with the exception of embryonic stem cell research (which kills a human life).  There have been many stem cell clinical successes and therapeutic treatments in human beings from stem cells derived from many sources collectively known as "adult stem cells" and also from umbilical cord blood stem cells.  We champion research such as this that cures or helps patients while also respecting the dignity of the human person.

Embryonic stem cell research relies on extracting stem cells from a human embryo, which kills them.  These human embryos are either procured from in vitro fertilization or from human cloning.  RTLCK strongly opposes the use of human embryos for medical research because each human being has a right to life and intrinsic dignity, no matter how they came into existence.
